F rom January 22nd until April 10th, Mestizo Chelsea invites you to step into the universe of one of Mexico’s most iconic figures through Frida Kahlo: Women Experiences, an immersive Live Art project officially supported by UN Women and facilitated by PVBLIC Foundation.
Hosted in Mestizo Chelsea’s downstairs space, this landmark collaboration offers a rare opportunity to experience Frida Kahlo’s emotional, artistic and personal world, revealing lesser-known chapters of her life while celebrating her enduring legacy as a feminist icon and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
More than an exhibition, this collaboration positions Mestizo as a place where culture, creativity and cuisine meet, offering one of London’s most distinctive and meaningful lifestyle experiences in the first months of the year.

A New Way to Experience Frida Kahlo
Designed as a fully immersive journey, Frida Kahlo: Women Experiences unfolds across a series of sensorial environments that invite visitors to connect with Frida on a deeply human level. Through interactive Live Art installations, evocative projections and atmospheric soundscapes, guests are guided through the emotions, resilience and creative spirit that defined her life.
Technology, performance and storytelling merge to create a narrative-led experience that feels intimate, powerful and contemporary, bringing Frida’s voice, struggles and triumphs into the present moment.
The journey is enriched by an exclusive photographic exhibition featuring never-before-seen images of the artist, alongside a selection of her authentic personal letters. These rare materials offer an unfiltered glimpse into Frida’s inner world, her thoughts, relationships and emotional landscape, allowing visitors to engage with her story in a way rarely experienced outside of Mexico.
From Art to the Table: A Menu Inspired by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera
Following the Live Art experience, guests can choose to continue the evening with an exclusive five-course Mexican tasting menu inspired by the wedding banquet of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera; a rare opportunity to experience Mexican cuisine as it was shared during one of the most iconic unions in art history.
Carefully curated by Mestizo, the menu reinterprets the dishes served at Frida and Diego’s wedding, celebrating the flavoursand conviviality of early 20th-century Mexico. More than a meal, it becomes a narrative extension of the exhibition, allowing guests to connect with Frida’s life not only through art and storytelling, but also through the table, a central space of culture, identity and emotion.
The experience is complemented by a mezcal and tequila tasting, Mexico’s most emblematic spirits, reinforcing the sense of celebration and authenticity. This seamless transition from art to gastronomy positions Mestizo Chelsea as a place where Mexican culture is not only observed, but lived.
Art with Purpose: A Global Message of Empowerment
Beyond its artistic dimension, Frida Kahlo: Women Experiences carries a powerful social purpose. Developed in official partnership with UN Women, the project uses Frida Kahlo’s legacy as a symbol of resilience, creativity and female empowerment to spark a global conversation around gender equality and the eradication of gender-based violence.
By uniting art, storytelling and collective experience, the initiative not only honours Frida’s life and work, but also amplifies her voice as a beacon of strength and hope for women worldwide — aligning her legacy with contemporary conversations around equality, inclusion and shared humanity.
