C asadei Foods, a London-based family-run producer of premium plant-based Italian-style cheeses, has achieved a key milestone by securing a nationwide listing at Everyman Cinemas. As of today—National Pizza Day—moviegoers can enjoy Everyman’s plant-based Pesto and Sundried Tomato Pizza, topped with Casadei Foods’ signature Stracciatella cheese. Designed to deliver authentic Italian flavor and texture, the 100% vegan Stracciatella is crafted to perform beautifully under heat, ensuring spoonable curds, a clean melt, and a subtly tangy taste without splitting or pooling.
Founded in 2023, Casadei Foods has seen its business triple year-on-year in response to growing consumer demand for high-quality plant-based options. The brand has quickly gained recognition in the hospitality sector, with its Mozzarella already being featured across all Purezza restaurants in the UK.
Co-founders and husband-and-wife duo Carla and Marco Casadei bring a unique blend of culinary expertise and artistic flair to the venture. Carla, originally from Brazil, is not just a chef but also a former journalist and punk music event organizer in Rio de Janeiro. As a prominent vegan influencer with over 30,000 Instagram followers, Carla combines her passion for plant-based living with her creative edge. Her partner, Marco, brings his British-Italian heritage and shared love of vegan cuisine to the couple’s joint venture.
The pair’s entrepreneurial journey began with London’s first fully vegan pie and mash shop—Young Vegans—in Camden Market, followed by Death by Pizza, a vegan pizza takeaway operating from a small shack with a wood-fired oven. Dissatisfied with the subpar vegan mozzarella options available at the time, Carla took matters into her own hands and developed her own, leading to the creation of Casadei Foods and their now-acclaimed Stracciatella and Mozzarella vegan cheeses.
