Taste London publishes two principal types of review: product reviews and restaurant food reviews.
Both are based on first-hand tasting and independent editorial assessment. Whether we are reviewing a product at our editorial office or visiting a restaurant, our conclusions are guided by the experience itself.
PRODUCT REVIEWS
Independent Assessment of Food and Drink Products
Taste London reviews food, drink and selected hospitality-related products that may interest our readers.
Products may be:
- Purchased independently from a shop, market or online retailer
- Supplied by a producer, manufacturer, distributor or public-relations representative
- Received as part of a new product launch or tasting collection
Our editorial team tastes or tests each product before preparing the review. Depending on the product, we may consider:
- Flavour and aroma
- Quality of ingredients
- Texture and appearance
- Originality
- Packaging and presentation
- Preparation and ease of use
- Value for money
- Overall consumer experience
The review may also explore the people behind the product, its origins, production methods, cultural influences and the story of the brand.
Providing a complimentary product does not guarantee publication or a positive review. Suppliers cannot purchase a favourable opinion or control the final editorial content.
Products submitted for consideration will not normally be returned unless this has been agreed in advance.
Information for Product Suppliers
When sending a product for consideration, please provide:
- The product and brand name
- A description of the product
- A full ingredients list and relevant allergen information
- Preparation, cooking or serving instructions
- Recommended retail price
- Details of where the product can be purchased
- Background information about the producer or brand
- High-resolution product and lifestyle photographs
- Contact details for factual questions
Suppliers are responsible for ensuring that products are safely packaged, correctly labelled and suitable for consumption when received.
Acceptance or receipt of a product does not guarantee that it will be reviewed or published.
AFTER THE PRODUCT TASTING
Following a product tasting, the Taste London editorial team will assess the product and determine the most appropriate form of coverage.
If selected, the product may be featured online, in a print edition of Taste London, or across both formats.
Before publication, the supplier may be asked to confirm factual information, including:
- Product and brand names
- Ingredients and allergen information
- Prices
- Stockists and availability
- Names and professional titles
- Relevant company or production details
This is a fact-checking process only. It does not give the supplier or business the right to rewrite, approve or prevent publication of the article.
Taste London retains final editorial control over the opinions, wording, headline, photographs, layout, publication date and presentation of every feature.
Where a product has been supplied free of charge, Taste London may include an appropriate disclosure.
Every article reflects the product, information and circumstances available at the time of assessment. Ingredients, recipes, packaging, prices and availability may subsequently change.
THREE WAYS A PRODUCT MAY BE FEATURED
Following our assessment, a product may be considered for one of three types of editorial coverage.
1. Product News
If a product launch, brand development or the story behind the product is considered newsworthy, we may publish it as a news article.
News coverage may focus on:
- A new product or range
- An interesting founder or brand story
- An innovative ingredient or production method
- Sustainability or responsible sourcing
- A significant launch, collaboration or achievement
- A development that may interest Taste London readers
Product news is selected according to its editorial relevance and news value.
2. Product Review
Our editorial team may prepare a dedicated one-page review based on its first-hand tasting and assessment of the product.
The review may consider:
- Flavour and aroma
- Ingredients
- Texture and appearance
- Quality and craftsmanship
- Originality
- Packaging and presentation
- Value for money
- Overall consumer experience
The article may also introduce the producer, explain the product’s origins and explore the story or inspiration behind the brand.
3. The 2026 Best of Taste London
Outstanding products may be considered for inclusion in The 2026 Best of Taste London.
For each featured category, our editorial team will select nine products or food items that have made a particularly strong impression. Each selected product will be accompanied by a short editorial review explaining why it was chosen as one of the best in its category.
Selection is based on independent editorial judgement and may consider quality, flavour, originality, craftsmanship, presentation and overall experience.
Products cannot purchase inclusion in The 2026 Best of Taste London, and submitting a product does not guarantee selection.
4. Exclusive Interview
Taste London may invite the founder, owner, director or another senior representative of the company to take part in an exclusive interview.
The interview gives the people behind the brand an opportunity to tell their story in greater depth. Depending on its editorial relevance, the feature may explore:
- The origins of the company
- The founder’s personal and professional journey
- The inspiration behind the brand
- Product development and innovation
- Ingredients, sourcing and production methods
- Challenges and achievements
- Sustainability and social responsibility
- The company’s ambitions and future plans
Interviews may be conducted:
- Face to face
- Through a Zoom or other video meeting
- By telephone
- By email through written questions and answers
Our questions are researched and prepared specifically for each interviewee. Where an interview is conducted verbally, Taste London may edit the conversation for clarity, length and readability while preserving the interviewee’s intended meaning and individual voice.
An exclusive interview may be presented as an extended editorial feature of up to ten pages. The finished feature may include professional or supplied photographs of the interviewee, company, production process and products.
The precise length, format, imagery, headline, layout and publication date will be determined by the Taste London editorial team. “Up to ten pages” represents the maximum possible length and does not guarantee that every interview will receive a ten-page feature.
Before publication, the interviewee may be asked to verify names, dates, product information and other factual details. This fact-checking process does not provide the company with editorial approval or the right to rewrite the completed feature.
PUBLICATION AND GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION
Product news and reviews may be published on the Taste London website, in a print edition of the magazine, or in both formats.
Taste London’s print publication has an international reach. The magazine is available across more than 190 countries through over 40,000 retail and distribution channels, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Waterstones and Blackwell’s.
Each issue enters the international market with structured publication metadata, which may include titles, descriptions, keywords and other identifying information. This helps create additional digital references around the magazine and the products, brands and contributors featured within it.
For a product or brand, coverage in Taste London is therefore more than a single magazine appearance. It can become part of a wider international publishing footprint, supporting long-term visibility, discoverability and brand recognition.
Publication on any particular platform, inclusion in a print edition or selection for The Best of Taste London remains subject to editorial approval, production schedules and availability.
