Winter by the River Brings Christmas Markets and Festive Food Back to London Bridge City

Independent gift stalls, international street food, live music and riverside curling promise a festive season beside the Thames from 10 November 2026.

Winter by the River returns to London Bridge City this November with independent Christmas markets, global street food, festive drinks, live music and curling beside the Thames until January 2027.

L ondon Bridge City is preparing to welcome back Winter by the River, its annual riverside Christmas festival, bringing seasonal markets, international street food and festive entertainment to the banks of the Thames from 10 November 2026 to 3 January 2027.

With views across the river towards Tower Bridge, the festival will transform the waterfront into a bustling winter destination, welcoming visitors daily from 11am until 10pm.

A Christmas Market with Independent Spirit

A collection of independent traders will offer handcrafted gifts, jewellery, winter accessories and festive decorations. Shoppers can discover Art Deco-inspired jewellery from Linnet Jewellery, embroidered keepsakes from Luxe Christmas and hand-painted recycled glass baubles from Star Baubles.

Elsewhere, market cabins will showcase artisan teas, sustainable skincare, traditional German wooden ornaments and one-of-a-kind seasonal gifts.

The Community Cabin will also provide a platform for charities and social enterprises, encouraging visitors to support worthwhile causes during the festive season.

A World of Festive Flavours

Food will be a major attraction, with an international selection of street-food traders offering everything from traditional Christmas favourites to global specialities.

Visitors can expect Yorkshire pudding creations, charcoal-grilled bratwurst, Berliner currywurst and freshly prepared pasta served from a giant cheese wheel.

Lebanese street food, Indian roti rolls, Mexican tacos and Himalayan momos will bring further variety to the riverside.

For dessert, warm churros, traditional French canelés, chocolate-dipped fruit and indulgent hot chocolates will add to the festive atmosphere.

Riverside Entertainment and Curling

Returning to the festival, The Clubhouse will provide a heated rooftop retreat overlooking London’s skyline, with seasonal cocktails, mulled wine, live music and festive gatherings.

Swift Stone Curling will also return at London Bridge City Pier, offering a lively adaptation of traditional curling. Each 50-minute session accommodates up to eight players per lane, making it an option for friends, families and colleagues seeking a seasonal group activity.

With its combination of independent shopping, diverse food experiences and riverside entertainment, Winter by the River aims to offer a welcoming Christmas destination in the heart of London.
