A TASTE OF SICILY, BOTTLED IN LONDON

LAVERDE ARTISAN’s single-estate Biancolilla extra virgin olive oil, a finalist in the Great British Food Awards 2026, celebrates Sicily’s agricultural heritage in an elegantly presented 500ml bottle.

LAVERDE ARTISAN brings Sicily’s finest traditions to British tables with award-recognised Biancolilla extra virgin olive oil, combining exceptional provenance, elegant presentation, responsible sourcing and authentic Mediterranean craftsmanship in every bottle.

L  ondon-based LAVERDE ARTISAN is bringing a distinctive taste of Sicily to British kitchens with its single-estate Biancolilla extra virgin olive oil, an exceptional expression of Italian agricultural heritage that earned finalist recognition at the Great British Food Awards 2026.

Founded by young entrepreneur Luis Jurado Laverde, the company champions an uncompromising philosophy of provenance, quality and responsible production. Its olive oil originates from a single estate in Caltanissetta, central Sicily, approximately 900 metres above sea level, where olives are harvested in November and extracted within hours.

The 500ml bottle makes an immediate visual impression. Dark glass protects the precious oil from light, while the elegant ivory label, featuring a golden classical female portrait framed by olive branches, gives the presentation a distinctly Mediterranean character. It is an attractive addition to a thoughtfully curated kitchen and equally suitable as a sophisticated food gift.

According to the producer’s tasting description, the oil reveals delicate floral and herbaceous notes, fresh green almond, subtle tomato leaf and a clean, peppery finish. Its restrained character makes it particularly appealing for dressing salads, finishing grilled fish, enhancing roasted vegetables or simply enjoying with freshly baked bread.

What elevates LAVERDE ARTISAN beyond its presentation is the attention devoted to every stage of production. From careful extraction at temperatures below 27°C to controlled storage and bottling in London, Luis personally oversees critical aspects of the process.

For a young British business already gaining recognition for its artisan collection, this Sicilian olive oil represents an admirable combination of tradition, thoughtful entrepreneurship and contemporary luxury. It is a compelling reminder that exceptional ingredients need little embellishment when their natural character is allowed to shineFor the mle.
