Día de Muertos: A Celebration of Life and Memory
In Mexico, Día de Muertos is a time to honour and remember loved ones who have passed. The heart of the tradition lies in stunning altars adorned with marigold flowers (cempasúchil), candles, photographs, and traditional foods, each element carrying deep symbolic meaning. The marigolds guide spirits back, while candles light their way. Mestizo invites the London community to participate by bringing photographs of their late loved ones to be included in these beautiful altars, creating a poignant tribute to life, memory, and togetherness.
