Established in 1974 by the legendary Chef Kazim Akkus, Efes has become a symbol of Turkish culinary excellence, introducing the vibrant flavours of Turkey to the UK and winning the hearts of food lovers ever since.
To commemorate this golden anniversary, Taste London Magazine proudly presented a Certificate of Recognition to Chef Kazim Akkus, honouring his vision, dedication, and the incredible legacy he has built. From its humble beginnings to becoming a cherished name in the culinary world, Efes has not only brought authentic Turkish cuisine to England but has also created a space where culture and community come together.
Efes now boasts three thriving branches: one in Dartford, one in Stepney Green, London, and another in Westminster, London. Each location continues to uphold the high standards of quality and hospitality that Chef Kazim Akkus established 50 years ago. Today, the Dartford branch is managed by Cemal Akkus, son of Chef Kazim, who carries forward his father’s passion and commitment to excellence.
